Heating agent: Metallurgical coke is burned in the smelting process, generating a lot of heat, which helps to maintain the high temperature environment required for smelting.
Column skeleton: Metallurgical coke acts as a support material during the smelting process to help maintain the structural integrity of the smelting equipment.

In addition, metallurgical coke is also widely used in casting, chemical, calcium carbide and ferroalloy industries, as a fuel and reducing agent.
